CNIM (Constructions Industrielles de la Méditerranée) è in trattativa con Fincatieri per partecipare alla gara Us Army per la sostituzione degli LCM-8 con il Maneuver Support Vessel (light) che uscirà vincitore della gara. Fincantieri sarebbe in caso il prime contractor mentre CNIM sarebbe il subcontractor. Il mezzo proposto è una versione modificata/migliorata del L-CAT prodotto da CNIM per la Marine National in 4 esemplari e imbarcati sulle Mistral.
French L-CAT Landing Craft Pitched to US Army
CITAZIONE Constructions Industrielles de la Méditerranée (CNIM) will pitch a lightly modified version of its L-CAT landing catamaran in an expected US Army tender worth some $450 million for 37 new landing craft, said Philippe Neri, the French company's vice president for naval sales.
